Paul Rhoads Post Game
I don't know how many of you watched it but the lockeroom video after the game made me want to go play football at ISU. The part that really impressed me was the end when he lists the scores of some other games and says we are one game out and the team erupted. This team has confidence. I don't think this team has had confidence for two years. They carry themselves different, they play different and when they talk, they talk different. PR has this team on the right track and I think they are moving faster than I could have even imagined. I don't care that we are 4-3, the more important thing is that we have had a great shot in every game except for Iowa. Our team went through a coaching change, got clobbered by Iowa then lost two absolute heartbreakers. They have had so many chances to pack it up and finish 2-10 or 3-9 but PR has gotten this team fired up every week to compete. I like where this program is headed.

Re: Paul Rhoads Post Game
Great post, yaman. Even though I haven't seen the postgame video, I watch the postgame interview every week and I have the same feeling. PR is someone who makes it clear the priorities of this program. Players will improve from week to week, regardless of the outcome of the game. There will be focus from everyone in the program in preparing for our next opponent beginning on Sunday afternoon. There is no substitute for hard work. We are not going to sweep the history of our program under the rug and we have the confidence to overcome it head on.
Coach has been around a while to learn how to coach himself, but you have to wonder if Cecil Rhoads is the rock PR has built himself on...and not in a negative way, but in a very positive one. I had the opportunity to work with Cecil when he was semi-retired and he is very good with young people. You have to assume Cecil has been someone Coach has relied on, at the very least in the past, in learning how to motivate kids and create a program people have confidence in.

Thats such a great video! and a Great postgame speech! I truly can't believe a bunch of 18-23 year olds would be that excited to come back to practice in order to be a good football team. What a cool video and that team would be a lot of fun to play on!
