Coach Rhoads...

I was one of the Chizik lovers from the second I signed on CF to find out we got him. Excited, mesmerized, etc. As time went on, I continued to have to justify in my mind everything I thought about him to the point it felt empty.

When Rhoads was hired, I didn't have that same excitement from Day 1. I was okay with that though because I knew what had just happened the previous two years with Chizik. Now, the reverse is happening. As games go by, I get more and more excited with him. I sat very close to the bench last night and I saw his excitement and enthusiasm.

There is no reason why the schedule the next two years has to be a bad thing. It should be an opportunity. We'll earn some respect. Now, let's take care of the remaining 5 teams on this schedule so we can get some extra practice time come December.

I loved watching him chew out the ref after the phantom celebration penalty, great stuff. He wouldn't let up. It was good to see that passion.

When they hired Rhoads I thought that it wasn't a sexy hire, but probably a good one. I am very happy with the way things are turning out.

With Chizik, I liked some of what he said, but the way things were happening on the field and with coaching, you knew stuff was wrong, but since he was our coach, I didn't want to say much.

We are in good shape for the future, as long as we keep getting better. One great thing about Rhoads is that he has the drive to succeed and knows what it takes to do that here. He didn't come in with blinders on.

Did anyone see Chizik push the coach who tried to get a piece of the ref too? He turned around and two hand shoved him, it was awesome!

He gets ISU, the fans and what it takes to win in Ames. His staff and him are great teachers and make good adjustments.

I was also sitting near the bench and I loved watching CPR. Did anyone see when he turned his hat backward and was talking with Burham? He got down in some stance and was just going to town. Loved it. The guys got passion whether he's talking with players OR coaches.

On the drive home last night I just kept thinking to myself how lucky we are to have this coaching staff. I'm sure we'll have some bumpy roads ahead yet but I don't have any doubts at this point we've got our man!
