Sound System
my god its getting worse, should be a top priority

Re: Sound System
I am willing to lend Jamie my old Klipsch speakers.

Re: Sound System
I actually disagree strongly- the videoboard sound system was noticeably better at the Baylor game than the previous ones. They must have disabled something, because it was a little quieter, but there was no hissing or crackling or distortion. It certainly is not a replacement for an upgrade, but as a quick-fix for this season, it's acceptable.
True and Valiant
I also remember a game with Kansas when Cy (wore a huge suit then) went out to center field, squatted, and "pooped" a couple of chickens that had been dyed blue then chased them around.

Re: Sound System
They definitely turned it down to improve the sound quality. Noticed that right away.

Re: Sound System
I went to a Gophers game (against Cal) in their new stadium (TCF) earlier this year.
Not a Gophers fan at all, but was really impressed with the quality of their screen and sound system. There is a night & day difference between their system and ours. I don't expect to get a new "jumbo - tron" like their's (apparently it's one of the largest in the NCAA right now), but it shouldn't be too expensive to upgrade the sound system, which is badly needed.

The problem with the Gopher's sound system is that it's too good.
My friend lives a couple of miles from the stadium, and he can hear the PA guy like he's broadcasting from his backyard. There have been many complaints, and officials said they were going to have to re-aim speakers or disable some.

Re: Sound System
I emailed Jamie about the sounds system. He said that that could replace it for fairly cheap, but that they were waiting to see about the bowling in project. He said there would be no reason to replace it if they were just going to have to replace it again

Sounds like a solid plan to me.

Not to be contrary, but it seems as though they could develop a plan to upgrade the system now that could be augmented (instead of completely replaced) if we were able to bowl in the South endzone at some point in the future.
I don't see why we couldn't just move and add additional speakers if needed.

That's pretty funny, I hadn't heard that. I can image how annoying it would be for someone living close to the Stadium.
I'd settle for just being able to hear & understand the PA & referee without bad distortion and a horrible echo.

Re: Sound System
Not only the speakers but it seemed as if all the lights for the time outs left, what yard the ball was on and that stuff just started dieing right before half time.
On another note why is there hawkeye clothing in the ad at the top of the page? We really talking about iowa that much more all of a sudden?
