A kNU Football Article about Our game
Typical. NE StatePaper.com - Five Keys: Iowa State Playing Harder and Smarter: Nebraska's offense has been a little too cute over the last two weeks. Power football out of a shotgun spread, four-wide set? Oh, sure, you can do it. But defenses have to respect the quarterback and the receivers. And, right now, that's not happening. Both Texas Tech and Missouri left linebackers on the field to cover NU's wideouts, confident that quarterback Zac Lee either couldn't or wouldn't find open guys.

Re: A kNU Football Article about Our game
The Cyclones have not faced a defense as complete as Nebraska's since the Iowa game, and the Hawkeyes' front four is a notch below the Huskers
That's a pretty bold statement, right there. Considering iowa is still undefeated in no small part due to their D and the front 4.
I don't know much to anything about NU's D, but still.......

Re: A kNU Football Article about Our game
This kind of an arrogant comment:
If NU can pounce early, ISU won't put up too much of a fight.
While I'm sure that's historically accurate for ISU teams in Lincoln, this year's team is a different animal, and I can't really imagine our guys quitting if they fall in a hole.

Okay, I give... I admit that I've never know what the "k" stands for when referring to Nebraska as "kNU"... so what is it?

Re: A kNU Football Article about Our game
the 'N' stands for Nowledge!

Re: A kNU Football Article about Our game
I seem to remember running it fairly well versus Iowa. But we cannot match Nebraska's front four. They are too good. We better go strictly to the pass.
KU had a highly rated defense going into our game. The key word is 'had'.
This is a right the ship game for NU - so they can get back to the way things are supposed to be. Thing is, I think times are a changing. It didn't seem like too long ago, Florida State was one of the bullies on the block. With all the parity in college football, I see no need to fear anyone or fear playing at any venue.
Go Clones. Go Rhoads.

Here's some more obvious facts. You do what it takes to win. If that means giving up pass to stop run OR VICE VERSA, maybe you do that.
Here's another.
Strength of schedule.
Iowa 20, NU 37. Let's keep that in mind along the way.
I'm not knocking NU's D. I'm sure, as usual, come Saturday this version of the vaunted blackshirts are the greatest thing that will ever have graced my television screen.
I just think knocking an undefeated team, in print nonetheless, is a pretty "bold" thing to do.

I'm sorry but what is this supposed to mean? Are we comparing who is better overall or, i dont know. I thought the poster was comparing defensive stats. Iowa is 7-0, Nebraska is 4-2, ISU is 4-3. Those are all nationally.
If you are trying to say Nebraskas defense is nothing to be worried about, I dont know that you have really paid attention to the way that defense has played this year. They held the pass happy defense of TTech to 259 yds. Granted TTech put up 24 offensive points but it was mostly due to short field position and Nebraskas inept offense. I just hope their offense doesnt click and get us stuck in bad field position. Driving the length of the field on these guys is going to be very difficult.

That's strange their homecoming was not against a Big 12 team.
