Rhoads comments on playing Nebraska....

I'm guessing by these statements that our coach is seeing a real physical game on saturday with a low score and one team or the other making a key turnover or special teams play to win it....

Rhoads wouldn't venture to guess whether the Cyclones are catching Nebraska at a good time.

"I don't know if I ever used the term 'vulnerable' with Nebraska football, and I won't start using it right now," he said. "Bo Pelini will have that football team ready to play, and we better come out fully taped and fully strapped up."

Nebraska is probably going to be ****** about looking like little girls against Texas Tech and Bo Pelini is probably going to be ****** about having his coaching staff disparaged. My guess is they will look to prove a point, and they will try to pound on us.

If we can weather that emotional storm at kickoff and keep it close into the second quarter, I like our chances of keeping it competitive the rest of the way.

We definitely can't throw a pick six on our first offensive play like we've done down there before.

This is what I was worried about with Kansas. Keeping our heads above water to start the game.

If we can do that, and be tied or within a field goal at the end of the first quarter, this game will go well in to the 4th.

I think this is the key to a win for the good guys. If we can make this game close and get whoever is playing QB for Nebraska to make 1 or 2 mistakes the Nebraska fans are going to be ****** and that could shift the entire atmosphere back to the Cyclones.

On a side note, I was reading that Solich originally wanted to hire Rhoads as his D coordinator and got Pelini instead. This game will really tell who the better coaching hire was between the two schools - I think we already know the answer

First of all, this isn't the Nebraska teams of old. They are respectable, but they aren't awesome. Secondly, this Iowa State team isn't that of yesteryear either. Coach Rhoads has them looking and playing like a Big 12 football team. They aren't going to lay down and take a whooping like teams have in the past.

For my money, the point spread when I last looked was 19, and if I did own a farm, and if I did have to bet the farm, I would bet on Iowa State. I like the feel of this team, and I don't believe they are going to be intimidated b y anyone. If anyone "blasts" them, it will be because the other team is that much better. I will be in Lincoln for what I would say will be a minor upset.

When chris williams sez 28-14 nebbie you know its gonna be a miracle if isu wins.

The only way I see the clones winning is if nebraska's offense gives us a short field to work with against the best defense line in the big 12 by far!!!

Face it boys....these are the kind of games you have to win if you want some respect both inside the big 12 conference and nationally!!!!!
