Gameday thread too crowded
This thread is for first half thoughts rather than play by play.
1) Mahoney needs to learn how to kick and extra pt. I think he will be fine, this seems like a simple adjustment and I'm not sure why the coaches haven't fixed this yet?
2) I think we have one heck of a coaching staff. I don't think we are super talented, I think we are VERY well coached and the future looks very bright.
3) I really think we have a shot at this thing. I know we implode better than anyone in the country, but I think we are going to get a couple more turnovers in the 2nd half. The pick's are there to be had for sure.
4) We are doing this without A-Rob or Arnaud and that is impressive. I don't think Tiller is much of a drop from Arnaud but A-Rob is a stud.

Suh was damn near close enough to kick the football. That's on the line, not Grant.

Yeah, he just needs to realize he doesn't have to kick every ball 60 yards. On a good note, I can't believe he buried that 52 yarder into the net.
I agree with everything else you said. Although we've got to find a way to get pressure on Lee. No way we win this giving him all day to throw as he has had so far.

Tiller gets quick with the running but I'm impressed with him given his experience. Improvement in the 2nd will be necessary to win though.

Great post. I agree 100%.
We're not looking great, but we're doing well enough to have the lead, and that's all that really matters.
Sure, Pelini will be firing up the troops, but our guys are pretty good at this halftime thing. I feel OK about winning this game against a better team.

If we can get anything going on the offensive end we might have a chance. I don't like how Tiller throws the ball. He got lucky with that hr ball he threw to the end zone!

I don't know if coach Rhoads has a direct line to God or who it is, but I know I like it. I'm not sure we'll get all the breaks in the second half too, but we at least have a chance! Plus, Nebraska doesn't have an offense. I wouldn't be surprised if they go to Green in the second half.

I really wouldn't blame him with Suh on the other side of the line. Your first start ever as a QB and that's what you see, lol, welcome to the Big XII. He and the rest of the O have to start making some plays though. We need to sustain a couple of drives this half.

The k-state pat was blocked near the line of scrimmage. I put some blame on Mahoney for that one. But Suh was 3-4 yards in the backfield. Not much Mahoney could do about that one...

It almost looked like Suh was the holder for Mahoney's kick. That was some hellacious penetration.

A PAT can be made with no O-line on the field even. PAT's are 100% on the kicker as long as the snap and hold are ok. Watch the replay of that kick, he drove the ball as if it were another 50+ yd fg. Again, I'm glad he can make a 50yd fg, the PAT's are an easy fix he just needs to get it done.

We will not win this game with our offense trying to run between the tackles on two out of three plays. Great turnonvers, but they are moving the ball much easier than us.
