    Jesse-
    I owe you an apology for past critiques of your play. I specifically recall saying publicly that you are not a Big 12 LB and weren't cut out for the speed of the game.
    You have proven me wrong, and I assume many others, and I am more than happy to eat crow.
    The amount of improvement you have shown in the last season and a half is incredible and I am proud to have you as a Cyclone. I hope you are as good of leader off the field and have the passion for everything that you do in life that shows on the field. If so, you will have great success in whatever you do.

    Jesse is a great player and leader. He is a great example of the type of players we have on this team. Gritty, tough, and will always fight til the end.

    I think we all need to remember what these players have went thru with the coaching turnover and everything. We had a coach that bailed on his players and now we have a coach who would do anything for these guys and they're playing their hearts out for him.

    I, as well, owe Jesse an apology, as well as the rest of the defense.

    They were all hitting hard today and didn't let the fact that the offense wasn't helping them out slow them down. They were aggressive and played smart today.

    Intresting stats, Jesse smith has 87 tackles, 2 picks, 2.5 tackles for a loss and no sacks.

    All-American prospect Pat Angerer has 77 tackles, 2 picks, 2 tackles for losses and 1 sack.

    I am not trying to say he projects as well as Angerer, but those are darn impressive stats for a former walk-on.

    Can anyone think of a walk-on in any sport at ISU who has had this big of an impact on a team?
