Signature Win
In case anyone is curious, today's win is what you would call a "signature win". A win that elevates the program and makes believers of players, students, and observers. A win that changes the entire outlook of a program. A game, that regardless of record, is attributed to coaches and players long after they are gone. Congratulations to the coaches and players.

Re: Signature Win
At least for one day our "curse" moved 150 miles to the west...the possibilities are endless and we may be able to look back at this as the signature game much like Mac's first win against Iowa, but the margin for error is still so slim. I will be happy with continued improvement, there are very few seasons in the past 15 where I can say I thought we improved through out the year, this team already exceeded my expectations, why stop now

Re: Signature Win
Anytime you win when you were a 19 point dog is cause for celebration. However aren't signature wins typically against ranked teams?

Heck Ya! it's a million dollar win! A win like this brings the brothers and sisters with money back into the fold. This is the biggest win since DM beat the Hawkeyes. Imwho.

This is something different and proof HIV positive that the coaching staff is improving this program. Of all the BS excuses I have to hear from apologists for failures of coaches and players, this is a building block. This win cannot be underestimated with boosters, players, and recruits. Win when you are not supposed to win. And that passion he showed after the game was quite frankly goose bump worthy.

Great WIN, It would have been very difficult to play that hard and come away with another loss. I'm so happy for the players, coaches, and fans. We reallly needed this win.

Today, we won the game with defense, their strength. We are not a one trick pony. Both offense and defense have the ability to perform with less natural talent than the team they are playing. That is coaching and heart which is an extension of coaching. I won't lie, when Coach Rhoads had the interview at the end of the game I had chills. It was amazing how much you can just see him care. He wasn't happy HE won. He was happy ISU won and that is a sign of a guy that cares and a guy that will continue to work for this University or fan base. After today you couldn't trade me for any other coach. I have never seen a coach that emotional after a reguler season win with no extenuating circustances. I love this guy and I hope he is our Joe Pa.

My parents hadn't even met the last time ISU won in Lincoln. Disco was still in style. There are streaks, and then there are streaks. CPR just broke one of the latter. Donors get behind that.

Re: Signature Win
I thought it was hilarious when the sideline reporter post game asked CPR if this was "the biggest win of his career". He kind of gave a funny look before answering "Yes!"
"Hey! I'm building something here!"
