"All with a first year coach and 2 losses that we probably should have had? That is the kind of stuff that gets your south endzone built and a fanbase back."
get our fanbase back???? our fan base hasn't left. that's part of why we are some of the best football fans around, through thick and thin, we're there. Six hours before every game in the lots, no matter who we're playing and what our record is, and regardless of how long a losing streak may be suffering through. I mean, the past few years have been pretty lean, but more times than not The Jack has been packed and the fans have turned out. and that's more than can be said for some of the other programs around us and their badwagon following.

I thought the answer to this thread was going to be get ARob and Arnaud healthy.

Re: How we can win the Big 12 North
what this whole thread comes down to is that we're riding a wave of momentum right now and we need to take it one game at a time. we don't need to look down the road at the significance of the OSU or mizzou game or any other match up other then the one right in front of us. Lets just focus on A&M and how we can get our third straight Big XII victory. Looking beyond that and talking big twelve championship game is only setting ourselves up for disappointment.

Just to clarify.....I meant to say is.
We have always had a good fanbase, but this type of excitement is what ISU needs to bring in the people that have jumped off the wagon or bring in the casual football fan from Des Moines. (and get Donors excited)
Its best stated in this scenerio:
Lets say we were 7-1 right now and we go and beat A&M to go 8-1 and probably ranked 21st (ish) We play Okie State the following week and they are some were around 10th-15th. The Game is on ABC and everyone is pumped. That stadium would be rocking with no empty seats.
Now lets say we are 2-7 and Okie state comes in. We would still have our Die hard fanbase their, but something tells me there would only be 37-40K for attendance and it would be not televised.
I am just stating the obvious that winning brings out fans, media and donors. I saw more ISU gear out at stores last night in a long time. Its funny how that works.
Make sure you don't call the charge. But make sure you call the foul on the scrum.... -
Re: How we can win the Big 12 North
Too many what-ifs here. Can't deny that I was looking at schedules last night to figure out how all the dominoes could fall in our favor.
My conclusion: Have to wait and see what happens after the next two weeks.
KSU @ Arrowhead looking VERY frustrating right now.

Re: How we can win the Big 12 North
If we go 4-0 to finish the season we will win the Big 12 North and be ranked.
That's how we can do it, no one else will win out (most likely).
*Also, I do NOT see this happening. I think we go 2-2 to finish the season.

I don't think K-State is as good as there B12 record shows.

If this happens, ISU will go 5-3 and win the division. Like i said, missouri plays against some of our contenders and mizzou is almost already out of the race so hopefully they can upset K-State or Kansas. Have you give any thought to going back in time, and just replaying the last quarter of the KState game? Maybe we should talk to Uncle Rico and see if his time travel machine is available... -
