Great Paul Rhoads Quote
During today's presser, Coach Rhoads was asked what the difference was between this team last year and now at this time.
To me, this really sums things up. One of my favorite quotes of all-time. I’m a huge believer in mental toughness and what it does to you as an individual and collectively, what it does for your football team. We have a mentally tough football team that takes advantage of opportunities to grow and learn. We were confronted with an opportunity to do just that on Saturday in the second quarter when Nebraska was driving down the field on us and they were going in to score. The game was going to become 14-3 and in my mind, the game was on the verge of being over. We took a timeout and our defensive football team changed. It changed in the middle of the damn game. That was a huge step forward. You don’t do that without being mentally tough. You don’t do that without the power of mind. We went out there and on first down, we limited them to one yard. On second down, they got five. On third down, David Sims intercepted a pass. We were a different football team from that point on in the game. -

Great quote Coach.
The mystic of Memorial Stadium is no more.... the team felt its void during the game on Saturday.

That's really good.
I think our coach is a keeper.

That huge sucking noise you heard over the radio was the wind being sucked out of the former husker nation. And the ISU defense poked the hole in the balloon.

-keep This is a very unusual feeling for me, but I no longer fear road games just because they're road games. I'm not saying there's no way we lose this weekend (though I do like our chances ) but I don't automatically think we're going to lose just because it's on the road. I won't automatically think we're going to lose at Missouri just because it's on the road. It's refreshing!

Paul understands the fundamental aspects of motivation and psychology. Really, it's no wonder he's helped this team achieve this level of success.

This team, personnel wise, is basically one person different this year on defense, yet they play like animals out there. I love how this team plays. He was not kidding about hitting people comin off the bus.
I'm on Twitter too: Tre4ISU

Re: Great Paul Rhoads Quote
Listened to more Red diatribes tonight. They wanted Cody Green to come in. They cannot believe they could not score. They are now worried about baylor. They wished they had stayed with their power running game. One guy came to work with a papersack on his head. Twelve possession, eight turnovers. Their Big Red Wrapup show on Tuesday will have one play to show. I did not hear any Barney jokes.
The comment that someone on here made that was cool was if the blackshirts had gained the eight turnovers for themselves, NE would have been a world beater team. Funny, when the shoe is put on the other foot.

But coaching matters. Our players are put into position to succeed this year. Coaching is so much more apparent this year.
Remember last year? Same mistakes in game 2 as game 10. Missed tackles all over the place.
This year, our team attacks the ball, closing the gap and saving yards. Everything is contested. Our lines get after it. Very, very impressed with the improvement over last year.

Just watching the replay a few minutes ago, when LJ caused that rare fumble that we didn't recover. Seeing how he made the solid hit/tackle as opposed to last year when he would've (it seems) leaped 5 yards through the air to spear the QB, who would then sidestep him and run forever.

Look at how Bo Pelini treats his players and then look at Paul Rhodas. Not only did we win that game on Sat. but we got the best damn coach in the North! Thank you Coach for believing in ISU!

Re: Great Paul Rhoads Quote
I remember thinking something similar when timeout was called. I thought, "This could be the game."
The campaign starts now. November 6, 2012.
