Attendance for OSU
Right now it looks like a disappointing crowd for Saturday's game. Only 39,000 tickets sold.
Hope for a big walkup crowd I guess. Weather is supposed to cooperate and be in the low 60s.
Cmon people...get out and support this team! No reason we shouldn't have another 10k at this game!!!!

Re: Attendance for OSU
39k is what Pollard said on the 10-26 call in show, I find it hard to believe no tickets have been sold since then.
-
Re: Attendance for OSU
Well 39k tickets sold probably means 36k actually there. We need a BIG walkup crowd.
No reason not to be there. Weather is cooperating bigtime for a Nov. game it sounds like.

Re: Attendance for OSU
Agree 100%. The weather sounds good. This team - Players and Coaches deserve our support. Everybody get out and encourage others to go.

Re: Attendance for OSU
Come on people. 60 degrees in November. One more win to go bowling. National TV. Afternoon game. Support this team!!

Re: Attendance for OSU
I'll be there sporting my gold, bringing my girl too, Her first isu game. We need the fans to come to help this team. Any word on recruits coming to game?

Re: Attendance for OSU
if there's only 40,000 on a warm day in November, when we're playing a ranked team on network TV for an opportunity to get a bowl birth, I'll be a little embarrassed. maybe I just assume that all of cyclone nation has the same enthusiasm about this program as most of us on here do? nevertheless, get there if you can and encourage others to do the same.
40k for a conference game that matters isn't helping the argument for a bowled in south endzone either.
sidebar - is this a situation when the game actually being on TV throughout the state/midwest might have a negative impact on attendance?

Re: Attendance for OSU
This is exactly why moving the KSU game to Arrowhead was a good idea! We are playing a top 20 team at 2:30 on ABC in November with a sunny 60° day and bowl eligibility on the line, and ticket sales are around 40,000. How much more reason could you possibly need to attend a football game???
How many would be there in four weeks against KSU??? Thanksgiving weekend? Playing an unranked opponent who likely already has the North title? You're telling me it wasn't a good deal for $1.8 million?

It's a simple game in which strategic beauty comes not from being surprised by some new clever trick, but from the sublime, routine brilliance of a master in his element. -
Re: Attendance for OSU
For whatever reason, Iowa State fans have a hard time showing up to November games. We all remember the embarrassing crowd for the Missouri game for the Big 12 North title...

Re: Attendance for OSU
Is this the time to start a "blame the farmers" thread? Hey, I'm harvesting as fast as I can. (I may just be there anyway!!) I bleed Cardinal & Gold -

Two favorite teams, the Cyclones, and whoever is playing the Hawkeyes! -
Re: Attendance for OSU
i would think 45K+ is very likely - considering the weather and circumstances. I'll be embarassed if we cannot get a pretty full house with all the positive factors around this game: bowl eligibility, weather, top 20 opponent, ABC televised game, etc.

Re: Attendance for OSU
The base fan group will be there...but we will not have the bandwagon hoppers until we win more consistantly.
-
Re: Attendance for OSU
If we had 39,000 tickets sold last week, I bet we get around 45-46K. Most of our games have a large walk up crowd because people know they can get tickets.

Re: Attendance for OSU
I believe this has always been Pollards issue with ISU football fans....can the excitment that leads to a near 50k -Thursday night opener against a IAA foe...still be clearly shown in Nov against a rated, Big 12 opponent. Recent history would say no...
Thus is why clone fans get ripped for this and rightly so.
