So either the Big Ten isn't that bad and USC is really good that got beat by a great Oregon team or Oregon is a good team that beat an average USC team, which one is it? I think this is DEFINITELY true.

Oregon would destroy Iowa. A very small part of me is rooting for the Hawks, it has been interesting living in Iowa City this year and in the end it is encouraging to see a school in Iowa having success on the national level. But Iowa has not seen anything near the speed Oregon puts on the field. I don't think Iowa has the athletes to contain that offense, and Iowa doesn't have the offense to hang in a shoot-out.

I was an iowa fan growing up and i too converted to ISU fan when i went to college at ISU (could have went to Iowa but want a good engineering degree). And I really do see it now how arrogant Iowa fans are. The one good thing about ISU fans is that most of them went to the college and got a degree from there, most Iowa fans have not even stepped on the campus other than for football games. ISU has true fans, Iowa has a bunch of wannabees! and I am sad to say that most of my family is that way but they are starting to convert!!!
Let just do our part and win the big 12 north and not worry about what Iowa wants us to do!! Generalize much? ALL Iowa fans think Iowa is #1? To be fair, the computers did say Iowa was #1, but I can all but guarantee you most of the Iowa fans thought "That's nice, but this team has a long way to go."
Go ahead and continue patting yourself on the back for being part of a "alumni only" fan base. You act like you are somehow insulting the Iowa AD. If you talk to Jamie Pollard, he wouldn't give a damn where you came from or where you went, but if you are going to pay money, welcome aboard. Maybe, just MAYBE, if you wouldn't think of yourselves as elitists and accept more fans, you could get your end zone bowled in *GASP*

that's what "they" said about south carolina last Jan 1. Turns out, it's hard to be fast when you are getting smacked in the mouth.
slow, lumbering Iowa is 3-1 vs the very speedy SEC this decade.
the conference that owns Iowa (the last ten years) is the b12, almost exclusively the mighty clones! And we are not exactly known for our speed!
Oregon will likely beat the hawks, but they will NOT "destroy" them. But with that crazy Stanzi at qb, I wouldn't bet money on the ducks. I don't know how he keeps pulling his ***** out of the fire, but he has done it over and over. -

I was genuinely happy for iowa and was all set to watch the Orange Bowl and pull for iowa against a hated USC squad.
Then the cameras panned the crowd, and there it was....
"Hey Clones, this ain't Boise!"
Biggest game in 20 years for iowa, and some ****** takes that effort to put dowqn ISU. Was happy as a clam that the Trojans took iowa to the woodshed that night.
I have no issues with iowa doing well in this scenario. I have designs to send my father out to Pasadena for the Rose Bowl - presuming (most assuredly) iowa makes it.
Summary - my contentment is all contingient on how easy it is to deal with the iowa fan base.
The reason there were vengeful Hawk fans that year is because ISU beat them. This year, Iowa won so the majority of Hawk fans are apathetic or supportive towards ISU. Had ISU won this year, and Iowa still ended up in a BCS bowl, they would be even more likely to shove it in our faces. That's pretty much how it goes in general.

They had speed on the outside, but the main difference is the team speed with Oregon. The offense they run is predicated on getting to the edge through their quickness and outrunning people, whereas alot of the speed with the previous SEC teams was based on the downfield speed. That offense is unlike anything I have seen, and they literally play the entire game in hyper-speed.

Re: When Pigs Fly, ISU helps Iowa to BCS.....
It will never be a good place to be if Iowa is on the top.......they tend to foget all the years that ISU beat Iowa and those years in which ISU should have won the North, but didnt. Iowa has a better tradition and knows how to win the close games, ISU doesnt have that yet but I see us going in the right direction.
The computers ranked them number one based on the schedule, and what their opponets records are. Kirk said it himself if the computers had eyes they would not have Iowa ranked 1st!
I want to root for Iowa because it would be cool for them to win it all, but I dont want to have to listen to them for another year!!!!!!!!

Re: When Pigs Fly, ISU helps Iowa to BCS.....
I look at it this way. If that scenario happens, ISU wins a Big 12 championship and plays in a BCS bowl game! Who cares what happens to Iowa, I'll be on cloud nine

I'd be on cloud nine even if we just won the North this year. If we could somehow beat Texas in Dallas to head to the Fiesta bowl, I'd be too busy planning my trip to care about that ****** University 100 miles East.
The campaign starts now. November 6, 2012.
