    CNNSI and ESPN.com Bowl projections

CNNSI has us playing Ohio in GMAC Bowl in Mobile, Ala on Jan. 6

Stewart Mandel's college football bowl projections - Stewart Mandel - SI.com

ESPN.com one expert has us playing in Humanitarian Bowl (Boise) vs Idaho State and another one has us in Little Caesars Pizza Bowl (Detroit) vs Northern Illinois

NCAA College Football BCS Bowl Projections Week 10 - ESPN

Can't be picky this year but those are some unattractive potential sites to end up at.

    I've heard Albuquerque as well...

I would prefer (best to worst):
    Albuquerque
    Detroit
    Mobile
    Boise

Having a bowl game on the day after Christmas in Detroit would really suck.

Granted, I think we'd all take it at this point, but that would suck.

Bottom line is if we end up 6-6 we will be lucky to be in any bowl. We can't complain where we end up.

If somehow we end up 7-5, we will be in something better than any of those projected. Likely Independance or Texas bowl I would think.

Hopefully we can beat both CU and MU and improve our position.

It would be interesting if Philip Bates were allowed to play against us in the GMAC Bowl, but he's out this year for transferring, right?

Honestly, I just rediscovered it a couple years ago. Not awesome, but for a $5 hot 'n ready pizza it is a great deal.

I won't go to any bowl that is north of a line that runs due east and west through Des Moines.

Mobile is actually not that bad...it is pretty close to Point Clear / Gulf Shores / Orange Beach / Pensacola. All of those have very nice beaches and depending upon the weather it can be pretty nice that time of the year.

It is certainly way above Detroit and Boise.

Heck, the Flora-Bama makes it worth it all by itself!

I cheer for two teams, Iowa State and whoever is playing the hawkeyes.
