This is a HUGE week

It kind of reminds me of the UCONN game back in 2002 (I think that was the year) We win, going to a respectable bowl down south, lose, we are going to Boise. We know what happened.

That, was one of DMac's biggest flaws and why we ultimately moved on with him. It wasn't that he couldn't beat Iowa or Nebraska because he did that, it was because he couldn't get the job done against teams we should have beat with a lot on the line.

There is a ton on the line this week, and with a win, we get the monkey off of our backs and are bowl eligible. We lose, I don't give us much of a shot at beating Mizzou (and I am about as optimistic as they come)

Year 1 is a little early to put any permanent lables on a head coach but if CPR and staff can't get the job done, it will be in the back of our minds that we may have the second coming of D MAC (the good and the bad). If he does, we feel a lot more confident in in future years, in high magnitude games with beatable opponents.

I am not doubting our coaching staff. I hope I did not come off as negative because I am not trying to be at all. A win this week will surpass many of our pre season expectations and put us in a spot we have not been in awhile. We SHOULD win this game. Home game, roller coaster opponent, hopefully a little healthier, etc.

Here is to the Clones coming out on Saturday and putting an absolute old fashion *** whooping on the Buffs!

i actually like our chances with missou more than colorado. better to win them both.

I didn't realize we were bowl eligible already.

If we win this weekend we are going to a bowl game, if we don't we have one more shot or we may not be going anywhere.

I predicted six -- maybe seven -- wins for ISU before the season started. I was accused of drinking too much of kool-aid.

Yet here, with two games left, ISU has a chance to win seven games. I will stand by my prediction -- six, maybe seven wins.

Either way, I say this coaching staff has made a very positive impact on this program.

As a side note, Fry in his first year at Iowa went 5-4 -- 4-7 the next year. It takes time people.

I have only seen CU play when they have lost so my opinion of them is probably a little different than it should be. But, they are just a bipolar football team. Who knows what team will show up on Saturday.

MU on the other hand still scares me because they can really spread out the field and put some points on the board if they want to. We really don't want to get in a shootout with anybody.

You're right though, just win them both!

I was just kind of comparing the games and how they both had a lot on the line. In 2002, with a win, we go to a pretty respectable bowl instead of Boise.

This week, with a win, we are bowl eligible and get a shot to extend our season.

i know we have 2 games left, but If we would happen to lose this week, I really don't like our chances the following week against Mizzou.

Hoping this weekend is FINALLY the elusive "perfect weekend" I've been waiting for which would include:

MBB win and HB commitment on Friday
ISU win over CU and Squawk loss to OSU on Sat.

Come on now. We're the cyclones so I would expect none of the 4 things to happen. Maybe Iowa will lose but i could care less about them.
