    Rumor has it, ISU may have to turn down bid to Dec. 19 New Mexico Bowl since ISU's semester doesn't end till Dec. 18...

    I think this came up a couple years ago regarding Iowa going to bowl games. Some sort of by-law stating (not sure on details) that athletes cannot participate in competition if it involves missing finals week. I can't remember if that was a UI rule or Board or Regents rule, but I know it came up when there were projections of Iowa going to pre-Christmas bowls.

    posts like this annoy me. its a discussion board. the OP presented a hypothetical for DISCUSSION. if you dont like it, dont read it... but this whole 'fans cant talk about bowl games until the team has gotten 6 wins' is getting old.
