We have rooting interests in these games whether you know it or not
It's certainly no given that ISU will get a sixth win, but if we do get to 6-6 this year, we might need some help from a few other teams to get to a bowl. Here's some games to pay attention to this week and who we want to win. We don't need them all or even most of them to go our way, and a lot of them won't, but if you find yourself watching one of these games this week, follow this guide. ACC
Wake Forest over Florida State
Clemson over North Carolina State
Georgia Tech over Duke (critical)
Boston College over Virginia Big 12 Iowa State over Colorado (of course)
Missouri over Kansas State
Nebraska over Kansas
Oklahoma over Texas A&M Big Ten Ohio State over Iowa (just because)
Michigan State over Purdue
Northwestern over Illinois
Wisconsin over Michigan (critical)
Penn State over Indiana Pac-10 Oregon over Arizona State
Oregon State over Washington
Washington State over UCLA SEC Auburn over Georgia (I know, I know)
Tennessee over Ole Miss
Vanderbilt over Kentucky
Alabama over Mississippi State
Troy over Arkansas Mountain West Air Force over UNLV
San Diego State over Wyoming MAC
Buffalo over Ohio
Central Michigan over Toledo
Ball State over Northern Illinois
Miami (OH) over Bowling Green Sun Belt Western Kentucky over Louisiana-Monroe
Middle Tennessee State over Louisiana-Lafayette

Doesn't OU have only 5 wins?
In theory...they could LOSE out to finish the year. At A&M seems like the most likely win, but they have lost their before in recent history.
They still have to play Tech and OSU....
Could OU not even be bowl eligible? WOW...who would've thought that!?

Re: We have rooting interests in these games whether you know it or not
We win 6 games and we are going to a bowl. The bowl committee knows we have been jonesing to go to a bowl. They know we will bring a good crowd. I think they would rather have us then a team that is normally in a better bowl game and there fans don't care about the little bowl the big team got invited to.
Nobody but HB knows for sure. You pretty much know nothing....like Knownothing would like to say.

for those who were discounting iowa states win over nebraska, turns out it was more of a solid victory than once thought

Not if there are a bunch of 7 win teams. It doesn't matter who the bowl wants if team A is 7-5 and Team B is 6-6 the bowl must select team A even for at large bids.

That would be amusing for sure. I think A&M beats them this weekend. I feel confident Oklahoma State will handle them by 10+. Tech is the big question mark though. I have not looked, but I think that game is at Tech.

I am pretty sure that a bowl committee has their choice between picking a 6-6 team or 7-5 team. Now they can not pick a 6-6 team over an 8-4 team. There can not be a 2 win difference between two teams, but there can be a 1 win difference. This is all saying that both teams have only played 1 Div. 1-AA team as well.
Maybe I am wrong though.

ISU needs Missouri to lose out. IF Mizzou has NOTHING to play for on Nov 21st, I like our chances a lot better.

I think you are.. I believe the bowls HAVE to take a 7-5 team over a 6-6 team.

here is my question is KSU finishes 7-5 (With 2 FCS wins) and we finish 7-5 do they automatically have to take us before KSU?

Maybe I am wrong though. I think the 2 win difference rule applies only to conference bowl tie-ins.
For at-large picks, bowls must select teams with winning records over 6-6 teams. In other words, a 6-6 team can only get an at-large bowl bid if there are no teams left with 7+ wins.
