I talked briefly with a guy from the GMAC Bowl in Mobile, AL today at the game. He just said he was one of many scouts for that Bowl game and that was pretty much it. Personally, I would love a Jan. 6 Bowl game for many reasons!

*Post Jan 1 Bowl Game
*Only game on that day (night)
*National TV audience
*Last Bowl game before the BCS Championship game
*MBB Game with Duke same day
*Recruiting?...
*Hawk fans will be at home watching us (hehe)

i could go without a jan 6th bowl game seeing that I'll be in chicago rooting on the clones against duke. but I guess I would still be thankful to get one!!

After looking at the possible B12 scenarios, its almost certain ISU will play in a B12 bowl. KSU is not going to win at Nebraska next weekend, which means 9 teams could be bowl eligible. Assuming ISU and KU both finish 6-6, both teams would be competing for the Texas Bowl and the last B12 bowl spot.

Who would you take? An ISU team coming off a 2-10 season with a fan base that hasn't been to a bowl in 4 years or a KU team that finished the year going 1-6 and is coming off the best 2 seasons in KU history?

Assuming KSU loses next week, ISU is a lock for the Texas Bowl. ISU could move up to the Insight or the Alamo even with a win next week.

GMAC bowl is a joke. I hope for anything but this bowl. No way it should be played on the 6th of Jan.

I'd take any bowl wheter it's the friggin New Orleans Bowl or the GMAC bowl, whatever.

The Ath Dept would push hard against having a bowl game the same day we play Duke. Too much competition for the attendance of fans at both events.

gotta agree with ya on this one. First year coach, bowl eligible, yeah any bowl is huge for this year. Hopefully as we progress we can be pickier down the road. For now I'm just happy we're bowl eligible.
