Watching the ND/Pitt game, and when they come back from the commercial for the start of the fourth quarter, what is the crowd singing?
Sweet Caroline.
I don't know whether to be proud, embarassed, or what.
What have we done? :biglaugh:

They know the magic behind the song. We are 4-0 when they played that song after the third quarter. GO STATE!
The Hawkeyes also "adapted" the term for A ROB for Adam Robinson, and claim they didn't take it from us. Kind of funny that Adam is a freshman, and Alexander is a junior.
Only because whoever decided to start playing that song in the first place wised up and stopped playing it when our team was getting their heads caved in. Its only played now if we're up on the opponent or have momentum (which is then usually crushed by the girly-ness of this song).
Lots of schools play Sweet Caroline and similar "slow songs" particularly in the south.
And everyone with the last name Robinson becomes "X-Rob" where X=first name initial.
and lastly, I'm a fun-hater.
People do realize that ISU didn't exactly start this trend, right? I can't really tell if people are kidding here, but the Boston Red Sox have played Sweet Caroline for years at their games. And it wouldn't shock me if somebody else even before them started the whole thing.
I was pretty impressed by Pitt's "Sweet Caroline". They are louder than hell right now. My hat is off to the Pitt fans. They're definitely getting done (as is their team).
we copied sweet caroline from Boston Red Sox, Jump Around from UW and beer barrell polka from UW.
