5 playable LB's isn't a bad number if you are planning on running a 4-2-5. I thought that I've heard that is what Burnham wants to eventually get to.

We have played a lot of that this year and I think Burnham has that "deathbacker" guy in Floyd Mattison. Some has said he will be a safety, but if he adds 20 lbs, I htink he would fit that combo role nicely. He could be very flexible.

By the way, another OL commit, Tom Farniok 6-4 270 Sioux Falls, SD, led his team to the state championship here in South Dakota last Saturday. In the fourth quarter Washington just ran right behind him and his brother and Aberdeen Central couldn't do anything about it. Tom is going to be good for us I have no doubts. His brother Derek, 6'8 300, absolutely blew up one of the AC defenders. When you were watching, it was almost like you felt bad for the AC kid because he could do nothing about it. Hope the staff is working hard on getting Derek to ISU too. He'll have everyone after him next year.

Tom sounds like a good get. You can bet the staff is looking at Derek too.

This is a good get for us. Saw him play in high school, but being from a small town he didn't get alot of recruitment. Big, strong kid, and really moves well. I'd really be surprised if he doesn't start for us next year. Welcome aboard John!

Caspers is expected to start or I don't think he would have gotten the offer. Another quality starter like Caspers will really help the line next year. It will allow the younger guys in the program another year to get reps and be even better in 2 years.

Hopefully next years O-line wont take too many steps back without Reggie with Caspers coming in.
