ISU Bowl Destination Will Show Us A Lot About JP.
Rhoads has done his job by putting us in play. Our bowl destination will show us how talented JP is. If we end up at super destination, he deserves a lot of credit. If we end up at a low end destination or do not secure a destination, he failed. The next couple of weeks should be his busiest of the year, working the phones and politicing with bowl representatives to sell our case.

Huh?
Coach Rhoads' football team control our bowl destiny, not JP.

Re: ISU Bowl Destination Will Show Us A Lot About JP.
He got us into a pretty good bowl last time. A 7 win team against a 10 win team.

This is a conference matter, and AD's have no input.

Oh, here we go. find something else that is beyond pollard's control and blame him when it doesn't go the way you want. You anti-pollard guys are CLASSIC. Even when things start going really well for ISU you are gonna dog the guy that got you there. Hilarious.

Re: ISU Bowl Destination Will Show Us A Lot About JP.
This thread is stupid. The Big 12 bowl tie in's are based on where each team finishes in the conference 1-8 and each bowl is assigned to a certain place. The bowl committees decides who to choose for the bowl.

Probably has more to do with how well the ISU fans travel. Hopefully the poor attendance numbers for the last two home games and the Arrowhead game doesn't hurt us.

Originally Posted by cycloneML you might check out what Lew Perkins did at KU a few years back. There is some truth to this. 90% of where we play is out of JP's hands. But there is definitely an element of back room dealing. KU outmaneuvered MU a couple of years back to secure the BCS bid. Credit to Lew Perkins.
But I don't think that JP will have much to negotiate with if we don't beat MU. 6-6 teams are happy to go somewhere, not in a position to outmaneuver anyone.
Penn State, Ok State, and Iowa are on the clock to begin positioning for a BCS invite.

If we finish 6-6, and K-State and Kansas become bowl eligible, there isn't a lot JP could do anyways. All the Big 12 tie-ins would be gone. JP doesn't really have any say and a lower tier bowl wouldn't be his fault. Besides wouldn't you rather go to lower bowl than no bowl AT ALL!?!? Let's not get picky right now ISU fans!
