Conference Schedule
Why do we end the season (almost every year) with Missouri?
I see that they are scheduled to be our last game each year through 2015 (and Colorado as next to last). The only difference in the last three games is alternating every two years between Nebraska and Oklahoma State.
There seems to be much more variation in the rest of the schedule.

Re: Conference Schedule
It may be because of our "rivalry" with Missouri through the telephone trophy.

Although it seems to me, when I was in school back in the early 90's, we always finished with CU. Iowa State Historical Scores -

Re: Conference Schedule
I know Iowa always ends with Minnesota and Michigan always ends with OSU so I think the rivalry factor is a very possible reason.

Re: Conference Schedule
Since when does the Big 12 care about the Telephone Trophy?
It seems that the conference is full of "rivalries" like this, but I still don't see why it is the last game of the season each year.

It has been Mizzou every year since then.
Don't have a good reason for why we play Mizzou our final week of the season.

OU v TX is always in Dallas during the fair
A&M v TX is always during Thanksgiving
I know there are more, and definitely more in other conferences. But I think it does the Big XII a favor to have these teams play in a yearly "slot". It generates excitement for teams that do not have winning records or a chance at a bowl and thus increases TV viewers.

Re: Conference Schedule
Perhaps they have an informal agreement (or formal) that each school can have one rivalry game each year.
I notice that all these are adjacent states or in-state games also.

Re: Conference Schedule
I'm sure we are on the bottom of the schedule makers priority list, but I think it is mainly due to the other games that we see similar teams as our end of the year game. Also, keep in mind that we were supposed to be playing K-State next weekend, but it got moved to our bye week so it could be played in Kansas City.
What I wouldn't give to have that game back at home next week with a chance to get to 7-8 wins and the BigXII North title. Hindsight is 20/20.
