OSU can win in Norman. OU is nothing special. If KSU can darn near beat OU in Norman, OSU certainly can.
Re: Insight bowl in arizona question
I don't think a 6 win team can be chosen until all 7+ (eligible) win teams are picked. I know Big 10 does it that way -- haven't found an official link for Big 12 rules yet.
Re: Insight bowl in arizona question
From a year ago, and it doesn't necessarily say that this is true of the Big 12 conference:
BCS and non-BCS bowl game projections - Stewart Mandel - SI.com
Quote:
Bowls are not obligated to choose their teams in exact order of conference standings. For instance, "ACC No. 3" means "third choice of ACC teams" -- not "the ACC's third-place team."
• Finally, a bowl can only select a 6-6 team from a conference if no 7-5 team from that league is still available. Similarly, bowls seeking an "at-large" team to replace a conference that did not produce enough eligible teams cannot choose a 6-6 team if there is a 7-5 team available.

The conference sets the rules as part of the bowl affiliation agreements. Just like the bowls have a specific order they get to pick in, so also there are other rules.

Iowa's fight is with Penn State over the Orange Bowl.
TV ratings mean nothing for the FIESTA bowl this year. Advertising for the bowl game this year was sold on last years RATINGS AND this is FOXs last year to televise the FIESTA bowl. So TV ratings are pointless...THis year its all about butts in the seats. FOX could care less about who watches this game as they have no financial interest in ratings for it.

Especially when you will be outnumbered 5-1

I don't think it really matters who plays, butts in the seat isn't an issue.

Have you no friends that are Iowa fans that you'd enjoy traveling with and partying with?

No doubt dude. the xenophobia is almost spooky. This guy must live in his mom's basement and has a KKK outfit. Cripes I love my cyclone friends they are a blast to hang out with. Its just a frigging rivalry. I hate rooting for ISU but I probably would do it if both teams end up in the valley of the sun.
We are IOWANS the best people on the planet.

With that said I am hopeful that we can make it into the Insight. Beating MIZERY this weekend would be a good step in that direction.
I would like to retract this statement and say the chances of both Iowa and Iowa State traveling to Phoenix are increasing.
If you would like to contact them and put a plug in for how your entire family would attend both games you might contact them and tell them your story. I think they might be interested to hear it.

I really do not want anything to do with Cheezdik. That is in the past. We can sit around all day and talk about the past. How close were we to running the table in 2005??? Should we have fired the best coach in school history??? Should we have hired Brian Kelly???? Why would we want to look back when we have so many good things going for us now? I'm moving on. Try it, it feels good.
