Didn't that happen to a big 12 school one year they lost in the title game and fell all the way to the alamo?

K State I think...and I think they lost in the Alamo too.

Someone told me the other day that if ISU was to play Minnesota, it would be the first time that these two teams have met since Jack Trice...can anyone confirm or deny this?

No they have met, they met again in 1989, Iowa State did not renew the contract to play them the next year (1925)

Sweet, thanks....So ISU has never beaten Minnesota? I'd say that would be more of a streak to beat than Nebraska...right?!

Still, 12 years. You'd think with as close as we are we'd play more often. I suppose with Iowa we already have a Big 10 team on the schedule every year.

part of me wishes we could play them more often, even with iowa on the schedule. Would be a great rivalry opportunity with only a few hours between both cities.

no doubt, plus I think we have comparable talent levels.

Also, on a personal level, I'd love to be able to get home and talk my dad into catching a game at the new TCF stadium.

Texas fell to the Alamo vs. Iowa and almost lost. KSU went to the Holiday Bowl and DID lose.
