True and Valiant
I also remember a game with Kansas when Cy (wore a huge suit then) went out to center field, squatted, and "pooped" a couple of chickens that had been dyed blue then chased them around.

Re: MAngino in trouble
Looks like the KU basketball fanbase is transferring their idiocy to the football program.
He poked a yelled at a player? Are you kidding me? Why is this an issue? If a kid can't take something like that I think I'd recommend to he and his parents that he consider being a cheerleader.

Re: MAngino in trouble
I think if it comes out that he did anything to a player and there is indeed more people that come forward he is done. This program doesn't seem to be heading over the hump. Whether that is a reasonable expectation or not for Kansas is not the point. The point is this team has not continued to get better since their BCS bowl and this year is a disaster.
I'm on Twitter too: Tre4ISU
Or so I have read. -

Right on bro...if a player cant take that he must be a wimp...Hellsbells I had a basketball coach smack me across the back with a wet towel at halftime of a game in the locker room... I came out the second half and my guy never scored another point!!! Coach and I just laughed about it later... I would have run thru a concrete wall for the old coach and he had a very positive effect on my life!!!!! You cant be a wimp and play football!!!! go clones rip mizzou -

IMO - short of something truely abusive coming out of this, it appears like a fanbase and AD not happy with a flailing season and looking for excuses.

Re: MAngino in trouble
FWIW, I don't think any of this came from the fan base. It came from players, former players, and parents of players.
Also, isn't it a little lame to make your font bigger than everyone else's? Do you think your posts are more important?

Just watching Sportcenter and had to laugh as the host tried to inject drama in to it when she described the incident.

Re: MAngino in trouble
the real question is if KU was 8-2 right now would this be an issue?

Re: MAngino in trouble
Funny, his anger mgt issues were not a problem when they were winning. I'm pretty sure Mangino is an East Coast boy (Philly area) and very much has an "in your face demeanor". That attitude doesn not always go over well in the midwest.......unless you go to the Orange Bowl.

It is hard to believe that ISU has more Big 12 wins than KU right now and could finish ahead of them in the standings.
They did, however, have a killer schedule -- the kind ISU will have next season.

Re: MAngino in trouble
This is the beginning of the end of Mangino. It is also the beginning of Snyder taking control of the state of Kansas again.

KU needs to remind themselves that they are NOT Texas/Oklahoma. Its totally OKAY to have somewhat crappy season every now and then.
They have no fan support when it comes to football. I was at Nebraska game last weekend and noticed that so many of their fans just left after Nebraska scored 24-17. It was senior day... and was within ONE touchdown. Stadium was PACKED with Nebraska fans because many KU fans sold their tickets to Nebraska fans (since they would buy tickets for 100 a piece, if not more).

Re: MAngino in trouble
They reap what they sow.
No offense to you greatshu and some of my other KU friends (one of my best friends is a KU fan), but the KU fanbase's arrogance and sense of entitlement has been absurd these past couple of years. It was so apparent in KC this fall after the ISU/KSU game. It's no wonder why the P&L has an open roof, the collective KU egos couldn't fit inside otherwise.
Maybe it's bc KU in 2007 did what ISU should have done in 2004/05, but I dislike them more than any other Big 12 N school. (call it jealousy if you will)
I can't wait for KU w/o Reesing/Meier/Briscoe(hopefully) to come up to Ames next year and fully get kicked in the teeth. I will revel in that victory no doubt.

I think more of it is coming from the AD who has not always seen eye to eye with Mangino. He seems to be looking for any reason to oust Mangino and if he can get enough players and parents to back him, he might be able to get out of some of the buyout. That, I think, is why you hear so much about the players and parents.
