ISU - '08 v'09
Hey Cyclones,
Over at Atomic Teeth I've penned a comparison of last year's Cyclones and this year's. As you might suspect, this year's is better.... I've dived into the numbers a bit if you're interested.
Any of you coming to Columbia? Barking Carnival — Blog — How much better are these Cyclones? -

Chizik was an idiot. Rhoads is not.
You're gonna win over alot of people right there.

Re: ISU - '08 v'09
I just wasted my time reading the back handed compliments... it will be a good game. But to say you aren't worried about the game is rather dimwitted. Heres to a cyclone victory.

Rather dimwitted? Sometimes people worry. Sometimes people don't.
There were no backhanded compliments, by the way. I am incapable of such.

We're 1st in 3rd down efficiency?

To put another way re my worrying about this game, last year I laughed out loud at the very thought that the Tigers would lose to the Cyclones. This year, I'm not laughing. Basically, I think the Tigers match up well against the Cyclones - these reasons will be hashed out later in the week and you are free not to read that. It'll probably also be dimwitted.

I appreciate the back handed compliment,
I am still not overly concerned about this game because I think the Tigers will be up for it and ISU doesn’t match up well with Mizzou, but I doubt it will be a walk in the park as it was against Chizik’s ‘08 Cyclones. There’s no question that the Cyclones have taken big steps this year.
And why not?

In short, Mizzou is top ten nationally in stopping the run and ISU will struggle to move the ball if required to pass. Much like KSU against the Tigers. On the flip side, Mizzou leads the conference in big pass plays (25+ yards) and I don't think ISU has a consistent answer for that. Really, I think the line is about right.
That said, who the heck knows in the wacky Big 12 North?

The odd thing is that ISU has allowed only one FG in the red zone in conference play. Well, I think that's odd. So, opponents have been in the red zone 26 times, scored 16 TDs, and 1 FG.
Compare that to Mizzou - opponents have been in the red zone 25 times, scored 13 TDs, and 9 FGs.
Mizzou has been awful in the red zone this year, by the way.

Guys chill! He wrote a good blog and gave his opinion.
To be honest I agree. We don't match up well with Mizzouri at all. We will have to get some timely TO's and actually have an offense to even have a chance in this game IMO.

Mizzou has been awful in the red zone this year, by the way. That seems rather meaningless than to say we are #1 as we've given up virtually the same amount of pts (115 to 118) and you're saying that Mizzou is bad.
