Someone asked on his call in show about number of bowl practices and unless I misunderstood him, Coach said there was no limit on number of practices but it was just a matter of having everyone available at the same time. I think he referred to coaches being off on recruiting trips and players in finals. So, as far as I can gather there is no set number of practices you are allowed.
In the post game interview I think Coach said he was giving the team most of this week off to spend with family etc. I think one not so obvious benefit of the bowl practices is the fact that there will be activity in the football complex during December recruiting. That has to be better than a kid coming and seeing an empty facility.
Right now, not gearing up for KSU and sending the players out on a week break is probably just what this team needs.
Guys are coming back and getting healthy and now. They also get 1 week off from the battering and bruising that the rest of the nation is seeing on Saturday.

No one can match our dedication and passion for Nintendo's classic sports titles...Tecmo Bowl & R.B.I. Baseball. In-depth strategy guides, player attributes, team rankings, along with incredibly detailed recaps of our season play. We don't reminisce, we just keep playing!
I believe the team has only had one practice called off since fall camp anyways, so this break couldn't come soon enough. Hopefully our guys aren't thinking about football at all right now and can come back refreshed.

This is a pretty darn good point. We will have several December recruiting visits and having the team busy practicing and preparing for a bowl game I would think would be worlds away better than having an empty practice facility.
I've heard from coaches over the years just how important these bowl practices are. I don't think we should over look the importance. It's basically like getting an extra fall camp like someone already said. Remember the comments from our coaches about the strides some of our players made from the start to end of fall camp...I bet the same thing happens during the bowl practices. Very, very good for the younger players imo.
