It is Benton....and it sounds like he suffered some pretty serious injuries. This is not good. I hope he can pull through. Same goes for David Cato for Iowa...you hate to see things like this.

Wow! Hopefully these two young men make it out ok. Says Cato has already been released but Benton taken to hospital for head injury. Let's hope his head injury isn't anything major!!! Hopefully just a minor concussion

at least they were wearing their seat belts. Could have been a lot worse had they not, especially since the car rolled a few times.

In that article it says “They were real lucky,” Bonny said. “They were two very nice young men.”

That would indicate to me that both guys were talking after the fact so hopefully Benton will be fine. Strange that this happened Sunday and just now we're hearing about it. Hopefully another indication that it's not ultra serious.

That's what I was thinking. A lot of times, if you've been hit on the head or are complaining of head pain at all, they'll make you go to the hospital for tests just to make sure there isn't internal bleeding or something more serious going on. Hopefully he was just taken to the hospital for diagnostics.

I was wondering about this, too. It didn't get back to anyone on here or in the local media? Maybe it was because they were reporting his name as Denton instead of Benton.....but even then they should have picked up on it due to the Iowa player involved.
