Do we get a bump to the Insight
if Nebraska wins? Or would it be the Indy?
Re: Do we get a bump to the Insight
If you believe all the hear-say around this place, Nebraska winning would send us to the Insight.

So then it would be the Indy? I guess I'm wondering what would happen to UT if they got beat. Would NU and UT both be in BCS bowls and how would B12 bowl rank be affected?

If Nebraska wins, they go to the Fiesta. I believe in that case, the Sugar will still pick first and take the loser of the SEC title game (they may consider Texas considering they are so close to New Orleans, but I doubt they take them). The Orange would pick next and likely take Texas.

Texas would most likely still receive an at large BCS bid (Orange or Sugar, probably Orange). All the other bowl eligable teams would get bumped up a bowl slot and the Big 12 would not fulfill their bowl affiliations.

Meaning we'd go to the Indy?

Well, we don't know for sure. It will be either Indy or Insight. It won't be Texas for sure. I'd say most likely it would be Indy but if the Insight wants us instead they have the option of picking us ahead of A&M.

There is always a chance.. if all this were to happen.. that it ends up being a florida vs bama bcs championship... i know it would kind of be dumb.. but truth be told wouldnt be surprised

First of all, TCU would implode with anger and for good reason. Second, the entire nation would be outraged at having to watch the same matchup twice. I don't see it happening, not in a million years.

I think it would be more likely that Cincy would jump TCU into the national title. They made it pretty clear in 2006 that they weren't going to put two teams from the same conference in. Also, I can't see them putting a team from a non-qualifying conference in the title game. Even though TCU is ranked higher than Cincy right now, I think a convincing win over Pitt would put Cincy ahead of TCU. I think that top to bottom, the Big East is tougher than the Mountain West (Syracuse and Louisville >>> UNLV, SDSU, New Mexico, C-State, Wyoming).
That said, in all likelihood I'm seeing a Texas v. Florida national title.

Good point, I forgot about Cincy and their title game.
Re: Do we get a bump to the Insight
Why would someone pick ISU over Texas A&M? I am just curious what the rationale is since the Aggies beat your team head-to-head and are generally known for travelling very well as a fanbase?
I COULD see the intrigue of the stroyline in the Independence Bowl versus Auburn for ISU, but would that trump the money-side of the story (Aggies cuying up all the tickets and filling the stadium)?
I think ISU will fall below TAMU in bowl picking...

That is the illogic displayed on these subjects. Most people think that the Indy will definitely pick A&M before ISU, but then try to argue that the Insight would pick ISU over A&M. Makes no sense unless Iowa is going to Fiesta and Insight thinks ISU would draw better than A&M. Either way, we should just be happy for the MU comeback that locks us in somewhere, otherwise the speculation would be exponentially higher -- and much more stressful.
Re: Do we get a bump to the Insight
I think A&m will be picked above us unfortunatley, so no
