Just in from the Kansas City Star. Missouri could drop to the Texas Bowl.

“We’re hearing that the Insight Bowl may prefer to invite Iowa State than us,” [Missouri director of media relations Chad] Moller said. “The last time they played there they brought 20,000 fans.”

How can that happen. Don't all th 7-5 teams need to be selected before the 6-6 teams?

20,000? I thought many reports had it in excess of 40K?

Of course, I really doubt that it'd be anything close to that this time around. Economy, not mention that the first trip was our first bowl in a generation.

Nope. Not in the Big 12. As long as there are exactly as many bowl eligible teams as there are official tie-ins (or less), then any non-BCS bowl can take whomever the hell they want to. The Cotton Bowl could take us if they wanted to.

Actually, more Iowans probably live in Arizona than Mizzous. Having Iowa and Iowa State play near the same time could be a coup.

There are enough Big 12 bowl games to get everyone that qualified in the conference, so the bowl committiess can choose whom they want.

That would suck for Missouri. It was only a couple years ago when Kansas screwed them and they went to a BCS bowl rather than Missouri, who actually made it to the Big 12 Championship game. Maybe this could rekindle our "Rivalary" with them and make hte Telephone trophy more valuable.

Maybe this also means Iowa to the Fiesta bowl?

Mizzou fans don't travel worth a crap, neither do KU. This would be a big break for us because it would put us in a better destination against a more favorable matchup from the Big 10.
