Get your jolly's now, but all ISU is going to do here is cause the conference to pass another rule prohibiting this from happening. Just like the Tinsley rule, ISU will be the school causing the Big XII problems.
For the fourth time there is no "passing over". All eligible teams not going to a BCS game are put in the same bucket. Bowls are free to select who they want.
If you really think the bowls will cow tow to the conf and select teams with better records over teams that offer the most $$$ in fans/travel/tv revenue you are smoking some good stuff.

It's not absurd if you are the Insight Bowl and they're writing the check.

The bowl's selection committe decides, not ISU.
ISU is more of a nuisance to the Big XII than a contributor.
In what regard? Football? Basketball? Wrestling? Engineering? This is an astoundingly ignorant statement from an idiot Husker fan who, beyond football knows nothing about a conference of academic institutions.

Get your jollies now, but read the thread. Most agree that Mizzu is getting hosed. A good number of us would support such a rule. You'd know that if you could actually read.
The rule is not there and frankly, the commish is doing service to no one by handling this publicly.
Furthermore, I hate that the bowls are all about money and good teams get passed up by others because of following. Countless teams have benefited from this in the past though, including Iowa and Nebraska. Again, if others can benefit from it, I see no reason why ISU should be excluded from that.
Re: Big 12 commissioner worried Insight will pass on Missouri
It is part of the contract Mr. Beebe signed with the Insight bowl.
If he doesnt like it, he should change the rules/contracts, not publicly pit teams against each other.

Seriously, if this isn't enough to want to get the hell out then I don't know what it would take. Not good when your commissioner is actually taking sides between two member schools.
Would certainly be interesting.

Perhaps the most important thing is, if we do go to Tempe, to sell a metric ****ton of tickets.
Re: Big 12 commissioner worried Insight will pass on Missouri
He doesn't mention anything in his article that a (6-6) Texas A&M also could be picked ahead of Missouri as well for the Indpendence Bowl unless I missed it?

Mizzou should quit crying and so should you. If the Mizzou fanbase would actually travel to a bowl game in large numbers then they wouldn't get passed over repeatedly.
To your last point... You must have missed the memo.... The Insight Bowl wants ISU over Mizzou. You can suck it pal.

Don't forget 7-5 OU.

Re: Big 12 commissioner worried Insight will pass on Missouri
I guess I'm okay with whatever bowl Mizzou gets. It's a crazy system not related to success on the field, so whatever. Out of my hands. It is odd, though, that Mizzou has travelled well the last four years to bowl games, it averaged more than 64,000 at home games, and the Arrowhead game saw more than 70,000 fans. In addition, the Alamo Bowl game last year against Northwestern was the tenth most watched ESPN bowl game in the history of ESPN bowl games and Mizzou was in two of the most highly rated non-bowl college football games in history - '07 KU and '07 Big 12 Champ. So, it's strange that there's still this perception that Mizzou isn't able to put fannies in the seats and in front of televisions.
People keep telling me I should be happier about the Texas Bowl - Houston is where we recruit, Reliant Stadium is awesome, Navy is better than Minnesota, yada yada yada - yet I'm not. Feeling slighted, I am. I should be used to it by now, huh?
Of course, I don't blame ISU. I'll root for the Cyclones wherever they go.

This is how I would feel if the roles were reversed. Can't have any ill will towards ISU, it is not in our hands. Of course we are going to take a bowl with a higher tier bowl if it is offered to us.

Exactly, and that's why the commissioners "outrage" that bowls are not picking teams in order by their W-L record is absurd. Iowa State isn't OU by a long shot, but, by design, the bowls can pick who they think would fit best, and they always have. ISU is just a convenient target because we don't have the storied program of A&M or OU.
