But I think that if you want to do something about it, as the league, you need to do it behind closed doors. Not publicly.
This, if you as commish hate the setup that much get the AD's and conf officials together and make changes.
Correct ISUFan22....end of story.

Just wondering if Don Beebe expressed his outrage for Texas A&M being selected ahead of Mizzou as well.

And Oklahoma.

So no complaining in a few years when we are 9-3 and a 7-5 OU goes to a better bowl.

We understand Commissioner Bebee’s comments about the University of Missouri and its candidacy for the Insight Bowl. If the roles were reversed, our institution and fans would fully expect the Commissioner to share the same concern for Iowa State University. The selection process for bowl games, much like television decisions, is entirely up to the respective bowl partners. Our bowl partners have guaranteed our conference membership a significant amount of money in turn for the right to select whichever schools they desire for their games. We look forward to participating in whatever Big 12 bowl game invites the Cyclones.”
That's so awesome. How wonderfully subtle to hit on our ongoing issues with the TV contract too.

this. Or a 7-5 Oklahoma team being selected before Missouri. He is not complaining one bit to that because Oklahoma is a figurehead for the conference. I will be thrilled to whatever bowl game Iowa State goes to but now that our commissioner is speaking out against us, I have some doubt that we will not go to the Insight bowl thanks to his favoritism.
Re: My Thoughts on Beebe's Comments
People who say Missouri should be picked before ISU make the statement based on team win loss record. Why should that be the only consideration? ISU has beat MO. in past bowl attendance records. The bowls want to use that as additional consideration in their selection process. I say let them. Who says life is "fair" ? And by whose standards? I helped ISU get this consideration by taking my family to the Insight.com bowl the last time ISU played there. I expect to be there again this time if we get invited again. Beebe needs to get a life.

Sadly, I understand that.

Complain about not going, of course. It still wouldn't be the commish's place to publicly comment on what the bowl should do.
Re: My Thoughts on Beebe's Comments
Desmond Tutu didn't matriculate in the Big 12, so what does he have to do with anything?
Re: My Thoughts on Beebe's Comments
Its bad when a 6-6 gets picked over 7-5 but to allow it when the team is 2 games better sets a horrible precedent and will come back to bite us.

There is no precedent being set. Bowls are free to select who they want based on predetermined rules.
If Beebe and the rest of the Big 12 don't like this....well then change it.
No ,it is not bad. Non BCS bowls select the teams that will travel the best and make them the most money for that game. Period end of story.
