Re: New DE Commit Announced
The NCAA limits team to 25 scholarships per year. If players can start in the spring, they can be counted against last year's class. That's why we take more than 25.

Safeties will be Sims and Durrell Givens with O'Connell backing both up. Wouldn't be surprised to see Adrian Bennett get playing time also.
Linebackers will be Klein, Lattimer, Knott. Mattison will redshirt for sure (he only weighs 190) and George will probably redshirt also. Hubert also will be in the mix. He is probably the best linebacker in the class. He looks ready to play immediately. Yes! I meant LEONARD Johnson. Don't know how I messed up on my favorite Clone!
Yes! I thought Neal was DE also, but he is listed as a LB on the roster. Patrick Neal - Iowa State University Athletics Official Web Site - www.CYCLONES.com - The home of Iowa State Cyclone Sports
That's why this is a ROUGH DRAFT! Just wanted people's thoughts. Thanks!

You can only count back (limit of 3) if you didn't use all of your slots the previous year. We had 24 of 25 enroll last year so we have one slot to use for Dec grads this year. Any additional have to go against the 25 allotment for the February signing class for next year. Thus if we sign more than 26, someone either has to be projected as a grayshirt or not likely to qualify.

Anthony Young also committed. Sweet

Re: New DE Commit Announced
I Know we plan on signing the stud running back from Urbandale. Iowa has said he is the best athlete in the state. Except he isnt gonna make grades and may be forced to go juco. That may be the reason why we plan on getting 26.

Re: New DE Commit Announced
I believe we could actually have 3 recruits count on last years class since we had 4 kids not make it this fall. Martin, Bellamy, Mims and Princeton Jackson

I believe that PR has always been talking about the plan to sign 25 + 1.

Re: New DE Commit Announced
I forgot about Lattimer and Taufoo. I still think that would allow us to put 2 in last seasons class since we lost 4.

I think there may be another one...a D-Back named Earl Brooks or something.

I am pretty sure Brooks already left, never made it out of camp.
