Well, maybe baseball or horse racing, which I know nothing about and care nothing about either.

Well we know that Marty is no Larry Cotlar that's for sure. -

I love how Iowa hasn't sold their allotment either, but no one says boo about it. Just rip on ISU. Love the local media. They're so evenly balanced.

Re: 6,500 tickets sold?
Whenever a person considers attendance of an Iowa State home football game or an Iowa State Bowl game I would like that person to always ponder one question: How many Cyclone fans are there? It would be an exaggeration to say it is 20% of Iowa’s population. The remainder of people primarily root for the Hawkeyes.
The Cyclones selling 6,500 tickets through their Athletic Department ticket office to a Bowl game is the equivalent of the Hawkeyes selling 32,500. If the Cyclones draw 40,000 for a home football game it is the equivalent of the Hawkeyes drawing over 200,000. Obviously, Kinnick Stadium has a capacity of only 70,585; however, I am sure you understand my point.
The Cyclone fan base does a tremendous job supporting its football team and all of its other sports programs. No fan base turns out better on a percentage basis or is more resilient. I am so proud of our fans!!! Go Cyclones!!! -
Re: 6,500 tickets sold?
I've ran into several random ISU fans the past 4 days while wearing my ISU gear around DM and most of them have bought directly through the Insight Bowl because they're cheaper and I'm also amazed by all those that are driving.
These media folk area looking WAY TOO HARD into the ISU allottment. ISU will represent easily 20,000+.

From the "traveling" perspective, what matters is how many ISU people show up to bolster the local economy. I don't know how they quantify that, or how many ISU fans actually show up in the stands. Hopefully, there is some way to do it.
