Re: If Missouri goes to Big 10, who replaces Missouri
Some that come to mind right away would be Memphis, Northern Illinois, New Mexico and Utah.
Gross. TCU, Houston, Colorado State, SMU. In that order.

Re: If Missouri goes to Big 10, who replaces Missouri
Inviting another in Texas will not add anything to the conference. Texas and Texas A&M own that state with a little help from Texas Tech. If a team were to leave for the Big 10 it would need to look out side of the Big 12's footprint to add TV coverage. Arkansas would be nice but they gain little to nothing by going to the Big 12. That does not leave a whole lot of options as far as already BCS conference schools, which may mean we need to upgrade a school from a mid major conference. Northern Illinois would not be a good choice as Chicago is Big 10 all the way as far as college sports go. Memphis, New Mexico, Utah, New Mexico State, and BYU all have their positives and negatives.

Just imagine;
Big10 west: Nebraska, Iowa, Missouri, Wisconsin, Illinois, Minnesota, and Iowa State
Big 10 east: Ohio State, Penn state, Michigan, MSU, Indiana, Purdue, and Northwestern
each team would play two other teams from the other half of the conference and then the champs from each side would meet in the final.
mizzou and ISU get more exposure, nebby get more $ and can schedule oklahoma every year in order to renew that rivalry.
Too bad this will probably never happen... As others have said, I would LOVE this. The problem is that if we move more to Texas, the north teams and the midwestern rivalries are destroyed. I don't care about seeing us play a bunch of Texas teams. I want to see the regional matchups. Air travel has kind of ruined the regional matchup (that makes me sound waaay older than I am ).

I think so, too. I love to road trip to a couple of basketball games a year. It's tough to convince revkah to road trip to Austin or Lubbock. It's hard even to want to go to Lubbock. Or Waco.
I don't mind sounding old, anyway. I'm prematurely old.
