It's super expensive for most people to spend $1,000 plus for a three day trip. They only people I know that are going were already on and had already bought plane tickets to be in the Las Vegas and Los Angeles area's during those times. They aren't even staying in the Phoenix area they are driving over for the game and driving back. It's all about $ for the bowls as well as the people attending.

Re: Ticket update
Still 14 days away from the game. There's time to sell a few more.

Re: Ticket update
the deadline to order through ISU for priority seating was last friday, so the slowdown makes sense. And now you can probably get better, cheaper seats by ordering through the insight bowl instead of going through our ticket office.
plus, flight prices are still ridiculous. get some jets up here with some reasonable prices and i guarantee they sell out. (look how fast the high priced gridiron and alumni flights sold out)

Re: Ticket update
7,000 is a fantastic number IMO.
If we can sell another 1,000 or so seats that would be solid.
Plus Im sure some people have bought cheaper seats of Stubhub and Ebay, I know I almost did when I saw some of the great deals for tickets.
If we can get 12,000 people down to Arizona, that would be pretty on track from what I have seen at the other bowls I went to. Although, I did not make the trip to Boise. I have only been to the Indy bowls and Houston. Phoenix the first time was kind of scewed data because it was the first time that ISU had been to a bowl in so long (also if I remember Iowa was pretty bad that year too so a lot of duel fan snowbirds probably went to the ISU game)

Then make it a 6 day trip I am taking 3 of us for just over your $1,000 dollar mark (that includes transport, hotel for 3 nights, and tix) if we can get the bus filled up..come on people!! Weather in the 70's, a cyclone victory followed by an awesome NYE party....what more could you want?

Re: Ticket update
Tomorrow is the half way point between the bowl announcement and the bowl game. Obviously most tickets are going to be sold within the first week, but I would be willing to guess still sell near 10K by game time.

Re: Ticket update
We better sell the entire allotment or Pollard will never get the benefit of the doubt again.

Re: Ticket update
I don't think anyone should freak out about how many tickets are being sold through the university. It was a way better deal to get tickets through the bowl site. There will be plenty of ISU fans down there.

Re: Ticket update
One thing to remember is if we are publically announcing this then we probably are not doing too bad.
For further proof see the tight lips regarding season tickets last year and those of Minnesota's AD about their sales.

Re: Ticket update
fact is, in a very short amount of time we have sold 70% of our allotment, and will have many more in other sections due to there being better options buying directly through the bowl offices if you dont have a good enough level in the NCC. On top of that, add to it that you cant get plane tickets out of any nearby airports for less than 500 right now. We'll still come out looking good when we vastly outnumber minnesota down there.

Re: Ticket update
Go onto cyclones.com and see where you can get tickets? The best available is the north end zone. The tickets I ordered are in the south endzone. So I conclude that the lower bowl of our section is nearly filled. Plus I know tons of cyclone fans were getting cheaper tickets in the upper deck as well.
If you go to Insight bowl and check best available in the lower level you can still get tickets around the 30yd line on Minnesota's side.
