we offered Jake Farley out of Cedar Falls?
Didn't know this. See that he has committed to SMU. Did we offer him before or after his commitment to SMU? Does he have any interest in us or did we just lose out on him? Hate to lose on in state kids.

We didn't lose out on him. His offer was conditional.

I would venture to GUESS he was offered but when we got a bunch of linebackers to commit it was sort of withdrawn/offered grayshirt status. That's my guess. he seems destined for LB and we signed a bunch so we decided to go after other needs. Thats my guess
I'm on Twitter too: Tre4ISU
Or so I have read. -

conditional? does this mean the staff offered but only on a greyshirt opportunity?

Wouldn't think a grey shirt would stop him. Maybe it was more that he's get a schollie unless certain other linebackers committed.
I'm still surprised he didn't stay home and play for dad. Regardless, I would have loved to have had him here. His dad was an over achiever, and even if he was lacking anywhere physically, coach's kids, particularily on defense, have a better nose for the football because they figure things out quicker.

I always wonder how accurate the recruiting sites are, but according to Rivals, he had offers from ISU, Louisville, and SMU.
Oddly, UNI was listed as one of his college choices, but not one of the schools offering.

Farley is pretty undersized IMO. I saw him run track a few times last season. Hes a decent player, dont get me wrong, but undersized.

Will he play Safety or quarterback?

Totally agree.

Re: we offered Jake Farley out of Cedar Falls?
looks like he switched to kansas Jake Farley - Yahoo! Sports "We embrace that challenge and what it presents to us. I’m going to approach all 12 games this way: We’re going to win them all. If we prepare and then go out and execute, we’re going to win all 12. Now how many are we going to end up with at the end of the year? I don’t know, and you’re right, I won’t put a number on it."- Paul Rhoads on having the toughest schedule in the Big 12 -
Re: we offered Jake Farley out of Cedar Falls?
He was silently committed to Louisville before Kragthorpe got fired. Once that happened, he came back to ISU wanting the scholarship, but ISU had already filled up. To say that that Nebraska win helped recruiting would be an understatement.
