For some reason I cannot open up your All-Decade team, so I do not know if you contained Jason Berryman. Laugh all you want but if he could have stayed out of trouble and played his full time at Iowa State, he could have gone down as one of the best lineman Iowa State has had in along time.

Not sure why you can't open the link..maybe try via the front page. But yes, I do have Berryman on there.

What did he do every other game? I'm pretty sure he started as a freshman, so 3 plays in 48 games definitely isn't a majority.

Can't disagree with much. I probably would've put Steve Paris ahead of Marc Timmons...nic job though

Just my opinion on things. When you're talking about impact in the past decade when Curvey has 4 seasons and Hayward only had one, its hard to go against the career Curvey had. Actually, I'm a bit surprised that no one has mentioned Tyson Smith. As I said when I posted this, I probably should've included some form of an honorable mention. Were talking about 10 seasons and essentially picking one player at each position with what is probably differing sets of personal criteria for the selection process.

George Amundson was a first round pick in the 1970s. Checking for more...

Looks like it was just Amundson who was drafted #14 overall by the Oilers in 1973.

Brandon Brown should be ahead of Alvin Bowen...

I have NEVER been a fan of Alvin...If you watch him play, yes he goes full speed but the majority of his tackles were chase down tackles from behind.

Brown was a 4 year starter...tough as nails, pushed plays the right direction and filled like a linebacker should!!!

Wish I would have seen this before I posted on the front page article. I don't know if I'd put Brown ahead of Bowen, but Brown or Matt Word both are both better LB's than Jesse Smith and I'm a huge Jesse Smith fan. Jesse Smith filled a huge roll for us this year making so many tackles and getting a couple of INT's. I hate to say it, but the reason he had so many tackles is because the rest of our LB corp was preeettttyyyy weak and he was forced to.
Now that MBB is back, do we still have to pretend that WBB matters?

That is exactly what Bowen did too...and he made a lot of those tackles from behind.

(I should stop hatin on old Ace, but I probably won't)

Just for reference, here is the list of players that were voted first team all conference from 00-09 (all of them once except Haywood who was twice):

Ben Bruns, Ennis Haywood, JJ Moses, Adam Benike, Ellis Hobbs, Todd Blythe, LaMarcus Hicks, Alvin Bowen, and Jesse Smith.
