I don't think the little town had any idea what to expect. They had 2 bartenders that I saw and the lines were very long all night. Reggie Stephens said he was glad to see we were roasting gophers on the grill already, made my kids laugh.
I agree with others that it looked like more than 6,000. Was glad to hear that this was the largest crowd they've ever had for one of these events. More than when they held a joint pep rally with both bowl teams.
By far the lamest pep rally I have ever been to for sure. Nothing that anyone really said got anyone really "fired up" IMO. Personally, I would have loved something more along the lines of the Nebraska welcome home party. You could definitely tell that they players were beaming with enthusiasm and excitement though.
Also, who invited their Hawk friend? Tomorrow dress them appropriately please.
