Why are the helmets darker than the jerseys?

We need gold helmets!! Also need to maybe darken the gold color as well. (Because I don't like them looking like highlighters)

Since everyone compares us to USC, Their helmets do the same thing as well. My guess, it's the contrast between a shiny helmet and a matte jersey and how the cameras interpret that to your TV.

Yeah, it's all about the lighting. That's just the way it is with two different materials and a dark (non-black) color. I personally don't want gold helmets, just some white between the stripes on the jersey and pants.

I hate the stripes on the home jerseys. They need a white stripe or something. I also wish the stripes went all the way around rather than half circles.
The away jerseys have pretty good stripes though.

I don't hate the cardinal helmets, but I would LOVE gold ones. The throwbacks from 2 years ago were the best uni's we have ever had in the history of Iowa State football.
