We will need a full week to get ready for them, so no.
We both come off of home dates prior to that game. Homecoming against Kansas for us and home against Missouri for them.
Both teams would have adequate time to prepare for each other and as I see it Nebraska will be a tough game next year either way. Why not get it on ESPN to a national audience then have a few days extra to prep for a road game against Colorado that will likely be a must win to have any hopes for a bowl.
I do not like the thought of two Thursday night games due to the lack of tailgating for a majority of the crowd, including myself. Drop the one over the holiday weekend and add one during the conference season only if it is on TV.
I would think the Athletic Dept. wouldn't care what people think about an opportunity to host a Thursday night ESPN game. They'd be stupid to not pursue that, it comes with a good check, and publicity.
