If we can get any conference games on ESPN we must do it.
I'm down for one thursday night game a year. THe first one, thats about it.
I did vote no on the Thursday night games due to tailgating, but this would change only if it is on TV
People that voted no and then said they'd vote yes if it was on tv, please read the actual posts before voting in a poll.
Since this poll question was directly from an athletic department survey, I suspect we will be having a Big 12 Conference game on Thursday night in the near future assuming we are appealing to ESPN.
Nebraska vs. I-State in Ames???
Are we voting for Thursday night conference games? If so it's a definite no. But if in non-con games then I'm fine with it.
Let's play all of our games on Thursday. It'll be our thing, like blue turf or having sex in a restroom.
Do I want Thursday night games? Not really.
But this is a much more attractive offer and easier sell than our opener against a nobody that is prety much only on MediaCom.
Probably mentioned already - but if this is a conference thing, is it possible that this falls into November? Not crazy about night games at ALL in Nov when the weather can be pretty damn cold.
YES. Any national TV exposure is worth whatever reasons you people don't want them.
I don't like Thursday night games because of the inconvenience for those who work the standard 40 hr. week, 7 or 8 a.m. to 4 or 5 p.m. Being self employed myself, it doesn't really matter to me. We were told that if we had the first game on Thursday night, it would make things easier for those going away for Labor Day celebrations, students, and the BIG plus, assured wide spread TV coverage. Seems like we've had as many games barely covered by TV as we've had major coverage. If we can have guaranteed ESPN, or Fox or Comcast or whoever is doing the regional sports channels now, I'd be inclined to think Thursday night games worth the extra bother. Really, I do believe that with Coach Rhoads at the helm, we're going to be in a situation where fans are going to come, regardless of the day or time.
As a student, no.
