Re: Jeff Woody
Man I enjoyed watching him in HS. He was tuff and just didn't go do. No dancing in the hole. It's "Get ball....run with ball....run over people....score TD"
I don't know that he'll make the offense in DI but I agree, Woody on D at the free safety position would be great! He's just like John Lynch, size, speed and likes to hit. As much as he likes contact I think he'd tear some folks up at FS.

Re: Jeff Woody
Looks like he hits the hole hard, and fast, and can run out of tackles. I can see where he'd have that lack of side to side shiftyness, but it looks like he can really pull away down the field. Of course this is against CIML competition, not the Big 12.

Re: Jeff Woody
Watching some of that video, I thought he looked similar in style (not talent obviously) to Michael Turner or Shonn Greene. Has some nice speed and power, but not necessarily the side-to-side shiftiness (as someone else mentioned).

Re: Jeff Woody
I saw Woody play HS ball a lot....Not sure he has the speed for safety, however, I can see him playing LB, Fullback, D-end maybe? Wherever he plays, I can assure you he is going to lower his pads and let you know he is coming back again. I recall he great foot work.

I know he's not lightning but it's not all about speed at that position. If you look at both John Lynch and Ed Reed's 40 times Woody is right there.
Lynch 40 - 4.64
Reed 40 - 4.57
Woody 40 - 4.56..... and that was high school
Lynch used to hit people so hard it gave me a headache.
Either way I think we agree, if Woody were able to get on the field he'd make a difference and hit people.

Re: Jeff Woody
I'd move him to LB ASAP. He could really do some damage there. At RB, I don't see him ever beating out Blankenship, White and Shontrelle Johnson.
