I actually think Marquis can sneak into the draft very late. He is big bodied receiver that has pretty good hands. I am not saying he will be drafted, but he has a chance if he performs well at the right times. I would love to think Chris Lyle has a shot but I just do not think he is athletic enough. Jessie will be getting looked at at tryouts and pro day, but in the end I don't know that he has the right combination of size and speed to be drafted. My guess is he is signed to a practice squad and has a chance from there. Brandtner will gets looks in tryouts but my guess is he isn't drafted. As for Reggie, I will go with 6th round unless he can show in the combine or a pro day that he is more athletic than he appeared in Orlando. I think he gets drafted, however not that highly.
I would not at all be surprised to see Derrick Cattlett get drafted late or get a shot at free agent camp AND make the a team. DC was an oustanding blocker from both the TE position and out of the backfield as a FB/HB. Also is a pretty decent receiver for his blocking skills. Could see him catch on in the NFL as a 2nd TE and special teams guy. DC's blocking has been huge for us the past 3 years, he was all over the field blocking and sprung alot of our big plays.
The talk about Brandter is nice and all but I don't think he has shot. He was a good college punter but is nowhere near the NFL level. So hard to catch on as a specialist when each team carries one punter and a good punter's career can last 20 years.
A Sporting News article wasn't very flattering after the Shrine Bowl. LOSERS
Reggie Stephens, G, Iowa State. Stephens became an interesting prospect after his strong game against Nebraska, but he hurt his stock by struggling during his time in Orlando. He looked slow and unathletic trying to move his feet and block. He bent at the waist, frequently overextended and missed blocks. He also wound up on the ground too often. Stephens had been viewed as a late-round pick who could move up with a strong spring; after this week it is more likely he will go undrafted.
