Albert Gary
According to the front page of CycloneSportsReport.com, we received a committment from Albert Gary, a JUCO RB that enrolled at Arkansas in 2008. What is the story here, why sign a Juco RB with our last one or two schollies? Scout.com: Gary becomes newest Cyclone -

Re: Albert Gary
????? This one is curious. There must be more behind the scene that we know. I can't imagine taking 3 rb's this year when we have 4 already and only one of them is a SR.

Re: Albert Gary
CyBeleive,
See the recruiting class that had Jason Scales. We took 5 running backs. I think we ended up graduating 1. Jason Scales.
Nobody but HB knows for sure. You pretty much know nothing....like Knownothing would like to say.

Re: Albert Gary
I agree. But even then we were taking a big chance with the kid out of CR (I think) the ended up off the team and out west. I just thought with the 2 freshman from last year, Bo and ARob, 1 or 2 RB's this year would put a pretty good depth at that position. I believe CPR even said a few months ago that they were looking to add one RB to the class. But three works too!

Re: Albert Gary
I hoping for position changes. I really hope this doesn't mean something is up with Hollis or Johnson. Also, this kid is part of this class but really he is equivalent to Bo. It doesn't mean anything really, but it still leaves room in future classes to justify taking RBs.

It surprised me too but the more RB's the better I guess.

Re: Albert Gary
He was academically ineligible his junior year of high school. Had schools like Florida, Florida State, Tennessee, West Virginia and South Carolina looking at him. He ran a 4.40 forty at a Florida Friday Nights combine.

Running backs get injured, a lot.

They tried and could not see him because he is so fast. He is like superman. I know what your thinking. I know I just described Bo Williams.

Re: Albert Gary
Okay but here's a bigger question i have....
Did he go to Butler and redshirt? I find it ironic that he has absolutely zero statistics from Butler.....
this one really gets me, some posters have speculated if Hollis is a position change and also if SJ is potential for a decommit....but, this one really intrigues me a bit.... especially with Kirksey in town last week and supposedly several others such as Dancy and Corbett....
Curious to know how many schollies we have....we had long speculated we would sign 26 and were currently at 26 plus a gray shirt....
