Anyone remember this?

I can't remember exactly when we got the bowl bid but I bet there were at least three or four games left in the season because we had a good record when we got the bid. Back then the bowl bids could go out real early...maybe with no limits as to how early.

Well, that season we raced up to #12 and then lost every game after the tie with Nebraska (kind of like 2002) so it could be when we were given the bid we were ranked in the top 15. I think we would have had something like a 5-2-1 record after Nebraska with the easier part of the schedule coming. So I could see this happening.

if this was in 2006 i would agree. but it was 1986...these types of things werent big deals. people werent so anal.

I agree people are pretty anal these days, but even still, what exactly about a fake bomb in a big crowd is supposed to be funny? Maybe its just me (Born in 86, a young'n). Agree to disagree.
