A clean-up crew discovered a ticking bomb at Iowa State University`s Cyclone Stadium shortly after a football game ended, but it was exploded safely in a field nearby, police said Sunday. Re: Anyone remember this?
I'm going to ask around and see if I can find some more info but I remember in (I think) 1981 we were playing Kansas and it was quite a while before game time and the KU head coach was sitting in the north bleachers all by himself. I went over and talked to him and he told me there was a bomb threat called in and the locker room had been evacuated. His name was Don Fambrough (not sure of the spelling) but he was very friendly. Maybe someone else here remembers that and can give more information.

I don't think anybody should be crying about attendance at home games. Only 32,305 attended that game.

I don't understand, why would it be a sick sense of hummer 4 year ago but not 24 years ago? Have things really changed that much since I was born, sure doesn't seem like it to me. I agree that in some ways we are trying to hard to protect ourselves from everything, but that is still a sick sense of hummer if it was 4 years ago or 40 years ago it doesn't matter. If they had created a bomb and placed it out in the middle of a corn field just to watch it blow up it would be one thing, but to place it in the stands during a football game where you have a high chance of hurting someone if it goes off. Believe me, I've blow plenty of things up in my day, but what they did was wrong.

If my wife and 3 year old daughter were in the stands, along with 15 other friends and family, I belive if it was 1986 or now I would be a little disturbed.
