Cyclone Football: The quarterbacks with Tom Herman
Herman gives some great insight on the quarterback position in his system in part one of my Q&A with him. Cyclone Football: The quarterbacks w/ Tom Herman | Cyclone Fanatic -

I'm really hoping the Hermit is right and Arnaud progresses with his mechanics and understanding of the offense.... If not, I see no reason why Tiller should not start over Little Orphan Arnie.

Id like to hear what he thinks on Bueker

Did he kick your dog?

Coach Herman was straight forward and honest, I like that. But the get rid of Arnaud people are funny, what did Tiller do to prove that he is better than Austen? And that is not a knock on Tiller..

Re: Cyclone Football: The quarterbacks with Tom Herman
I was frustrated with Austin's consistency much of the season, but the kids hand was pretty hurt as well. Funny that didn't come up at all.
I love Austin's legs and power.
Just wish he could get both to click...

Wow! Refreshingly void of the typical coachspeak.
Hopefully, AA gets it done.

Re: Cyclone Football: The quarterbacks with Tom Herman
I think Herman hits it right on the head when he said he could put together a 20 play highlight reel showing that Arnaud is an all American, and a 20 play real that makes him look like a failure. Like he said, he was completing 70% at the end of the season, he has to get the decision making down.
Surprising that mechanics are a big part of decision making. I figured that was predominantly in your head, and had little to do with your body. What I like is the fact that they get so much more time to work on PLAYING QUARTERBACK as opposed to learning the offense this year.
And to those that want Tiller starting, no knock on the guy, but Arnaud clearly showed he can do more out there, at this point in time. The way TH talked about Capello, if Barnett comes on strong, I don't think it's ludicrous to think that Tiller changes position. I think he has a better shot at Sunday at other positions than QB.

I've met the kid, he's a great guy. Just hasn't been getting the job done and if there isn't marked improvement, I think Tiller deserves a shot.
And on the orphan part, haven't you ever seen Annie? Annie (film) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia (hence the reference since his name sounds like it... FFS man)

FFS man) Tiller played a lot of ball for us, and was pretty ineffective against a weak defense (A&M). Arnaud has to step up his consistency, but Tiller has had plenty of chances to prove more effective and it hasn't happened.

Tiller really didn't seem to throw much better than Arnaud when it was all said and done. Arnaud runs stronger....
