Re: Recruits?
Other than the lack of D-line help, I'm pretty happy with the class. Really looking forward to 2011 class and to see how quickly CPR can assemble that group.
Perhaps its just internet speak, but word out there was that Auburn would send CPR out when the needed to land a recruit that was on the fence.

Re: Recruits?

Anthony Young
Chris Young
Rony Nelson
All will play next season (start probably)
Durrell Givens will also see a lot of PT

Re: Recruits?
Johnson won't get a lot of time on the field. he wouldn't even be like third on the depth.

Unless Shontrell redshirts this year, to get 4 years after A-Rob graduates, I'm willing to bet he ends up getting quite a few minutes this year. He is thier best RB recruit in a long time and he had a lot of interest from other quality schools. They will do what they have to to keep him happy. I think he will be as good or better as a freshman than most of our current backups.
The only scenario where I see someone head and shoulders above Shon is if the light finally comes on for Bo Williams.

This may be true in the end but right now, judging from the reactions of coaches to him up to this point I would say he will be third one the depth chart at worst. Again, this is judge from what I know at this point, a lot could change.
I'm on Twitter too: Tre4ISU

And yet this is the highest ranked recruiting class we've had in the past 5 years. Hmmm, who to believe.
You do realize, don't you, that all of a recruits offers are not necessarily listed in his profile?

But Johnson was their top choice for a RB and they said they waned a game breaker at RB, so you make the connection. And lets not forget Duran Hollis, who also had some pretty good offers, including one from Iowa.

Re: Recruits?
The offer lists are definitely a best information available situation. While it's impossible to know if every offer is listed on a site like rivals or scout often some offers are listed that aren't true as well. Alot of kids accept recruiting as offers, verbal offers as offers, or are tenative offers if other prospects fall through. While I think we have a solid class, it's no better or no worse than what we've done the last few years. The overall ranking might be up in say Rivals' eyes, but then again they have alot of our kids as three stars with no other offers, no other bcs offers, or maybe one other 'bcs' team like washington state. For ISU to make progress in years to come, we need to win with those types of kids that aren't quite catching the eyes of a Texas Tech, UCLA, Iowa, Louisville but mature and develop to help us beat those levels of teams. It's what any program that has lacked success needs to do. We'll find out some this year and a whole lot next year on the field if our staff has the eye to see that talent before others do. If they do, wins will follow and recruiting will improve. I agree that we truly did get some good kids this year with Johnson far and away the best, but we truly didn't have a 'step-up' in recruiting.
