Did Rhoads get a contract extension following this past season?

I would assume since Pollard gives away contract extensions so freely (GMAC, and Chizik after going 5-19) that CPR got an extension following a tremendous first year as football coach? Anyone know?

Bowl victories usually mean automatic one year extensions minimum no matter the conference or school. If I was Rhoads and didn't get at least a one year extension following a bowl victory in year one I would be extemely ticked off.

Perhaps if he had used the information from his second post in his first post instead of taking pot shots at JP, his point would have been more receptive.

It was an intentional shot a JP in the original post but it was also a serious question. My point is that if our AD gave Chizik a two year extension following a 5-19 start as coach he better have rewarded CPR with at least one year following a bowl victory in year one. I really don't understand why people protect Pollard so much on this board. He has done some good things but definitely made some mistakes during his time at ISU.

I honestly don't see how the issue can be raised without mentioning Pollard's past. We know that the situation with GMAC may be different, but he admitted in the press conference following Chizik's departure that a extension was offered.

Why does an Insight Bowl Champion in Year 1 not deserve the same treatment as a basketball coach that had done nothing but complete a year on his contract and a football coach that showed absolutely no success?

I personally don't think an extension should be given to Rhoads after one year, but Pollard's past history seems to suggest differently.

If that's a pot shot at Pollard, then it is what it is.

We get it...Pollards made some serious **** ups but at the same time JTS looks 10x better than it did 5 years ago, there is a brand spanking new basketball building and alot of other positive things. Lord...lets keep ******** about everything and everyone, at some point you've got to realize that the negativity just isnt going to change the mistakes made. Onward and Upward....**** is getting stupid.

Quick question. If you were in CPR's shoes and just took a program in your first year to a bowl victory in year one wouldn't you want to be rewarded by your boss? It is our third bowl victory in our programs history, it is a pretty big deal. If I was Pollard I wouldn't want to disrespect Rhoads. If people think just because he is from Ankeny that he is our coach for life no matter what they are mistaken.
