CW: 1st practice
Open to the public or just the press?
-
Re: CW: 1st practice
related question: who can go to the spring game?
-
Re: CW: 1st practice
spring game is open to public
-
Re: CW: 1st practice
first practice is media only...unless you have connections like gridiron club and major donors can pretty much go to any practice spring and fall or something like that I think.

Re: CW: 1st practice
In the past, no practices are open to the public. If you are a high school football coach, you can call the football offices and usually they will allow you to watch a practice depending on their schedule. I believe they will make you promise/sign something about not discussing what you saw or heard.
The spring game is a public event, free admission and usually a good time to remember what football looks like.
You can spend a lot of time and money picking out the perfect floral bouquet for your date ... but you're probably better off checking if you have bad breath and taking the porn out of the glove compartment. The moral: you gain more by not being stupid, than you do by being smart. Smart gets neutralized by other smart people. Stupid does not. -

Exaggeration is a BILLION times worse than understating. -
Re: CW: 1st practice
I've only attended practices through the coaching clinics, so I didn't have first hand knowledge. I thought I'd heard that under Chizik they got pretty tight about people "leaking" anything.

Most coaching staffs are like this, especially with Twitter and all of the crap you can do with your phone. McCarney used to let us watch all of the time but those days are over.

I once got kicked off the bike path on Beach because I was watching practice across the street from my house.

The guy was SOOO paranoid of stuff leaking but he was too nice to tell the media they couldn't stick around. Loved Danny Mac.
